Horseback Riding is a beautiful and unique way to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. While not having to walk, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Pata Cancha-Valley in its fullest bloom. Visiting the ancient Inca ruins of Pumamarca, you will also satisfy your urge to know more about the Inca culture and the past times. As well, you will have loads of fun riding your horse with your family and friends – an absolutely great experience you don’t want to miss while staying around Cusco.
Day 1 | We start this tour from Ollantaytambo. Before starting our ride, you will meet your tour guide who will equip you with horses and a helmet and give you basic instructions about how to guide the horses safely. We will then start our adventurous trip in the Pata Cancha-Valley right next to the river of the same name, riding along for two hours until Pumamarca while passing small colorful towns such as Muñaypata and Muscapiquio on our way. We will discover some ancient Inca terraces while enjoying the breathtaking panorama of the green valley while observing indigenous people in their traditional clothing, and animals such as llamas. Arriving at the archaeological pre-Inca site Pumamarca, one of the first Inca settlements, we will have a short break to discover the ruins before later taking our way back to Ollantaytambo. On request, we can include the private transport from and to Cusco, which has an extra cost of USD 50$ for two persons. One-way transport is USD 25$ for two persons. |
