Horseback Riding is a beautiful and unique way to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. While not having to walk, you can relax and enjoy the stunning landscapes of Pata Cancha-Valley in their fullest bloom. Visiting the ancient Inca ruins of Pumamarca will also satisfy your curiosity about the Inca culture and its past. Additionally, you will have a blast riding your horse with family and friends – an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss while staying in Cusco.
Full Itinerary
We start this tour from Ollantaytambo. Before starting our ride, you will meet your tour guide, who will equip you with a horse and a helmet and give you basic instructions about how to guide the horse safely. We will then embark on our adventurous trip in the Pata Cancha-Valley, located next to the river of the same name, and ride for two hours until Pumamarca, passing through small, colourful towns like Muñaypata and Muscapiquio along the way. We will explore ancient Inca terraces, taking in the breathtaking panorama of the green valley, and observe indigenous people in their traditional attire, alongside animals like llamas. Arriving at the archaeological pre-Inca site Pumamarca, one of the first Inca settlements, we will have a short break to discover the ruins before later taking our way back to Ollantaytambo.
On request, we can include private transportation from and to Cusco, which has an extra cost of US$50 for two persons. One-way transport is US$25 for two persons.
