From Cusco to Puno, one of the most amazing roads stretches from the Andean Valley up to the ”Alti Plano” (high plateau), where Lake Titicaca is located. Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the World at 3856 m.a.s.l. Its shores and islands, such as Amantani and Taquile, are home to the Aymaras and Quechuas, who are amongst Peru’s oldest people, predating the Incas by a thousand years.

Full Itinerary

The service is provided in Buses equipped for Tourists field, seeking the best way to travel between Cusco and Puno, where the Passenger can enjoy various places of Magical charm and Ancestral History such as The Sistine Chapel of America or Andahuaylillas Chapel, The Imposing Temple of the god Wiracocha, The Majestic Paso de la Raya (Road Limit between Cusco and Puno – View of the Nevado Chimboya) and the Mythical Lithic Museum of the Pukara Culture.

Cusco. We will pick you up at 6:15 from your hotel

Check-in time for boarding tickets and baggage check-in is 6:40 a.m.

Departure time: 7:00 a.m.

The Sistine Chapel of America, or Andahuaylillas Chapel. This church dates back to the 17th century. Also known as the Sistine of the Andes, it is renowned for the beauty of its murals, gold leaf work, and the paintings of the Cusco school it houses.

IMPORTANT. The visit lasts 25 minutes. Filming or taking photos inside is not allowed. The entrance fee is S/. 18.00

Rakchi. Also known as the Temple of the god Wiracocha, the supreme Inka deity, this place features the largest number of Colcas (Granaries) and magnificent adobe-and-stone buildings.

IMPORTANT. The visit lasts 40 minutes. We recommend wearing hats and using sunscreen. The entrance fee is S/ 20.00.

Sicuani. Lunch is a buffet and is included in the ticket price at the tourist restaurant LA PASCANA, which enjoys high prestige and is recognised for the chefs' good seasoning. It is strategically located on the outskirts of Sicuani. The buffet offers a diverse selection of national and regional cuisine, appetisers, fresh vegetables, side dishes, and a variety of desserts. Additionally, hot drinks (coca maté, coffee, or tea) are included in the ticket price.

IMPORTANT. Lunch lasts 40 minutes. Cold drinks, such as water, soda, or beer, are not included in the buffet.

La Raya. The border between the cities of Cusco and Puno is situated at an altitude of more than 4,335 meters above sea level, where the famous snow-capped Chimborazo stands, from which the Amazonas River originates. Tourists can take photos of the landscape during the 5- to 7-minute visit.

IMPORTANT. The visit time is between 7 and 10 minutes. We recommend wearing extra clothing and consuming coca tea to help prevent altitude sickness.

Pukara. This culture developed from 1600 BC to 400 AD and is located 106 km away. In this museum east of the city of Puno, we can find ceramics and sculptures depicting zoomorphic figures, among them the famous sculpture of HATUNÑAQAC, which in our time would be translated as the supreme cutthroat.

IMPORTANT. The visit lasts 30 minutes. Filming or taking photos inside is not allowed. The entrance fee is  S/15.00.

Puno. Arrive at their private bus station in Puno at Avenida Costanera 430

Accommodation Sol Plaza Hotel Puno 

We will pick you up early at 07:15 am from the Hotel Imperial and then take you to the local city port. From here, we will take you to the floating Uros Islands and then to Amantani Island, where you can visit pre-Inca temples dedicated to the earth's fertility (Pachamama and Pachatata).

Located 35 minutes by boat from the port of Puno, the Uros Islands comprise a group of islands mostly made of reeds, which are also used to build houses and boats. The inhabitants of the Uros Islands are very friendly and cordial with visitors.

Amantani, located 36 km from the port of Puno (three hours by boat), is an island composed of eight communities engaged in the cultivation of corn and quinoa, as well as crafts representative of their culture. This afternoon, you will hike to the top of the island called Pachatata, where you will enjoy breathtaking views and a unique sunset over a bright, colourful sky.
After descending, your host family will welcome you with a typical, delicious dinner. You will be dressed in local costumes and enjoy a party with traditional local dances, accompanied by your host family and the rest of the community.

After having breakfast with your host family, you will be brought to the local harbour, where we take a short boat ride to the shores of Taquile Island. From here, we will begin hiking to the main square, observing the people who are world-famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings and community work. Amongst men, it is very easy to identify who is married, single or dating a female – just by the colours of their hat! Also, you will get to know who is important on the island just by the items they wear. You will have lunch at one of the community restaurants, then take a boat to the local port and return to Puno. Upon arrival in Puno between 03:00 and 04:00 pm, we will transfer you to your hotel in preparation for the direct night bus to Cusco at 09:00 pm, arriving in Cusco between 05:00 and 06:00 am the following morning.

Note: Please do not give candies or lollies to the kids on the islands! They appreciate oranges and other fruits because it is impossible to grow them on the islands at these altitudes, and because it conserves their teeth and the environment.
