Cusco, the capital of the ancient Inca Empire, is known as the “navel of the Earth.” Cusco was home to the Inca (kings), which is why we can find ancient palaces, administrative centres, and important temples around the city, dedicated to various divinities. You will be impressed by the colonial Catholic churches and the magnificent Spanish architecture, combined with ancient Inca construction and impressive archaeological sites, which make the city very pleasant to explore.

Full Itinerary
The Cusco City Tour will allow you to discover the enigma of this marvellous city and the surrounding archaeological sites! We will pick you up from your hotel between 12:30 and 12:40 pm and bring you to the main Plaza de Armas, where you will meet your travel mates (if you are on a shared service).
Our official tour guide will provide an extensive explanation of the Plaza de Armas, its history, and its importance, and, in our days, he will accompany you throughout the tour.
We begin our cultural tour with a visit to the Main Cathedral of Cusco. Here you can observe the colonial architecture and the amazing paintings of the Cusqueña School (well known for its religious iconography painted by Cusqueños).
Afterwards, we will take you to the Qoricancha (golden palace) by the Santo Domingo Convent, a perfect example of the fusion of Inca and Christian cultures.
After your city tour, we will take the bus to the impressive Inca Fortress of Saqsaywaman. You will be amazed by the construction-grade rocks; some weigh more than 300 tons and are 12 meters high.
The tour continues to explore the underground temple of Quenqo (labyrinth), featuring impressive rock carvings and tunnels. This religious temple was dedicated to the worship of Mother Earth.
After a few minutes’ ride, we will see another fortress called Puka Pucara (red fortress), which served as a military control gate to Cusco.
After walking for a few minutes, we will arrive at Tambomachay (water temple), dedicated to the worship of water. The two fountains represent fertility and longevity.
We return to Cusco around 06:00 or 07:00 pm. If you want, you can ask your tour guide to stop at one of the souvenir shops on your way back.

We recommend you buy the General Tourist Ticket (BTG), which allows you to visit 15 sites, all the archaeological sites in Cusco and the museums as sites in the Sacred Valley, Moray and Chinchero, the south Valley of Cusco, Tipon and Piquillacta, and lasts for 10 days, including Cusco museums and a dance show.
