Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the World at 3856 meters above sea level. Its shores and islands, such as Amantani and Taquile, are home to the Aymaras and Quechuas, who are amongst Peru’s oldest peoples, predating the Incas by a thousand years.

Here visitors may wander through old traditional villages where Spanish is a second language and where ancient myths and beliefs still hold true. Also is located close to Puno and the famous Uros Floating Islands where its inhabitants preserve their traditions and costumes on their handmade reed floating villages.
Uros Islands and Amantani
The tour begins at 7:45 am where we will pick you up from your hotel or from the bus terminal. from 7 am to 7:30 We will transport you to the local city port where you will be shipped by boat to the islands.
Tour duration is two days and one night, starting with a visit to Los Uros Floating Island, then Amantani Island where you can watch the pre-Inca temples dedicated to the fertility of the earth (Pachamama and Pachatata).
Amantani, located 36 km. from the port of Puno (three hours by boat), is an island composed of eight communities engaged in agriculture, corn, quinoa as well as crafts that are representative for their culture.
In this afternoon you will have a hike to one the tops of the island call Pachatata, from where you will have breath taking views, the sunset is one very unique, with bright colorful view.

Taquile Island – Puno
After breakfast with your guest family, you will be bring to the local harbor, we take a short boat ride to the shorts of Taquile island, where we will start to hike to the main square of Taquile town, observing the people, world famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings and community work.The male are very easy to be identified who is married, single or dating a female, just for the colors of their hats, also you will get to know who is important in the island just by the way of wearing few of their items.You will have lunch in one of the community restaurants, after lunch, we descend the local port by the stairs of Taquile which has 535 stone steps to take the return trip to Puno, arriving to Puno in the afternoon, 5:00 to 6:00 pm and transfer to your hotel.

They really appreciate oranges and other fruit as it is impossible to grow on the islands in these altitudes and it will save their teeth and their environment.
