Program Itinerary
The Sacred valley tour starts in Cusco at 8:00 am. We pick you up from your hotel and bring you to the bus, where you will meet your tour guide and your travel mates (shared service).
We leave Cusco around 8:30 am in direction of Pisaq, descending to the Sacred River Urubamba. With a few stops along the way at various lookout points, we will arrive at Pisaq town, where you can enjoy browsing around the traditional handicraft market of Pisaq with enough time for local souvenir shopping. Afterwards we drive up the mountain where Pisaq’s ruins are located. Our tour guide will take you around temples, terraces, tunnels of this complex all the time enjoying the majestic view of the Sacred River as well as seeing the Intihuatana (sun clock).
Then we drive among the Sacred River passing by a colourful little town, where you can observe the descendants of the Quechua people wearing colourful ponchos.
We stop in Urubamba town for lunch (we recommend a buffet lunch of Peruvian food)
After a short rest we keep going until we reach Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Inca town. You will be amazed by this Inca town taking in the impressive temple of the Sun with its intricate stone work detail, the terraces constructed to sustain the mountain and admire the total temple in the shape of a lama.
You will have short time to explore by yourself this amazing complex, with its beautiful water fountains.
After exploring this magnificent complex, we take the road back to Urubamba and leave the river to go up to the beautiful fields of Chinchero, discovering again another amazing Inca Spanish complex and lastly visiting a weaving family, who still using natural minerals and organic ink to colour the wool.
We will return to Cusco around 7:00 pm, to plaza Regosijo.
